A healthy plant, with higher Brix levels, is always more insect resistant than a plant with lower sugar levels. Plants grown with organic nutritional inputs typically have a higher Brix content than plants fertilized with synthetic N-P-K fertilizers. An important secondary benefit to this increased Brix content is the added resistance to plant attacking insects who find it more difficult to suck or eat plant juices that are sticky due to the higher sugar content. If they arrive Azadirachtin, has a growth disrupting effect on many insect larvae, that prevents insects from developing to the next larval / nymph stage and die off. Other pests, such as grasshoppers, avoid or reduce feeding in response to the presence of Azadirachtin.
